Unfortunately, it is still not so obvious. What file should have this getProvidedProfiles? I can't find it in the API docs, and it certainly isn't part of RulesProfile. There is definitely some magic that goes on at several points in the code you've posted. Would it be possible to post your complete source, or at least as much as doesn't constitute an NDA violation? I'm having great difficulty getting Sonar to recognize rules for my company's proprietary language.

I'm very interested by having the "Test Success" part of sonar dashbord with my integration tests results.
If I have correctly read your entry, you have developed a failsafe sonar plugin to do that. If it is the case, I'm very interested by your plugin. If you could say me where I can download it, I would be very happy !

Found it. In the StAX InputFactory, called XmlInputFactory2, there is a method called configureForSpeed(). While not the ideal solution--configureForSpeed() undoubtedly sets up other configurations in addition to caching DTDs--it appears to activate a caching mechanism.

Hi Josh,

Thanks for this, very useful stuff. I found that for some detectors, I needed a couple of extra initialisation bits and pieces before launching the analysis. I put a "DetectorTester" class with my changes here: http://github.com/rewbs/DefaultEncodingDetector/blob/master/test/junit/org/soal/findbugs/test/support/DetectorTester.java

Btw, it looks like the generics have been swallowed from the code in this blog post.
